Llwynypia
From Rhondda Cynon Taff Wiki
Llwynypia (also spelled Llwyn-y-pia or Llwyn y pia), is a town in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales, lying in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. Officially it is a sub-district of Tonypandy. The name means "The grove of the Magpie" or "Magpie's Bush" and was taken from the name of farm that existed in the area before the advent of industrialisation. The area is well known for its narrow streets of miners cottages known as "The Terraces". The streets are so narrow that a single car can barely pass through them. Some of the terraces were widened in recent years but some are still in their original incredibly narrow state.
The town lies near the Mynydd y Gelli Iron Age and Bronze Age settlement and stone circle. It is served by Arriva Trains Wales on the Treherbert line from Cardiff.
