Jillian "Jill" Evans (born May 8, 1959, Rhondda Cynon Taff) is a Welsh politician, MEP for Plaid Cymru (in the Greens/EFA party group) and chairs CND Wales.

Background
She was educated in Tonypandy and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and Wales's Polytechnic College.
Professional career
Before being elected, Evans worked as a Research Assistant at the former Polytechnic of Wales where she gained her M.Phil. Degree. Jill Evans worked for the National Federation of Women's Institutes in Wales for six years before taking up a post as Wales Regional Organiser for CHILD - The National Infertility Support Network.
Political career
She was party chair from 1994 to 1996, and entered the European Parliament at the 1999 elections, becoming, with Eurig Wyn, the first Plaid Cymru MEP. Evans retained her seat at the 2004 elections but Plaid's second seat was lost due to a collapse in their vote. She stood for the Rhondda constituency in the National Assembly for Wales election, 2007 but was not elected.
Jill Evans' main political interests are the environment and international affairs. She speaks Welsh and English. She enjoys gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Evans has also been a supporter of the Burberry workers campaign to prevent the closure of the factory in Treorchy.
