Aberdare Girls School

Aberdare Girls' School is a secondary school for girls aged 11-18 in the town of Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales.

There are approximately 700 pupils on the school roll, of whom around 100 are in the sixth form. ^[1]

The school is on two sites : pupils in Year 7 and Year 8 are housed in Y Gadlys (Lower School), and those in Year 9 - Year 13 in Plasdraw (Upper School).

Pupils come mainly from Aberdare itself, but some travel from Glynneath, Treorchy and Mountain Ash.

School Motto

The school motto is (in Welsh) "Oni heuir, ni fedir" (translation: You cannot reap unless you sow).
